With a statement has been launched on Kickstarter the “Inspired by Heroes” campaign, a book which tries to inspire and motivate both cosplayers and people who want to stay fit.
“If you like superheroes, costumes, but also athletes, then this book is made for you. Gathering 20 models from all over Europe, this 172 pages book is full of pictures showing them cosplaying, casual, formal or working out.
Each model will share his experience and his training with interviews explaining where they got their inspiration from and their motivation to become the hero they wanted to be.
Inspired by Heroes is a project involving around 30 people : cosplayers, photographers, video-makers and the team working on it. As of now, all the pictures and interviews have been done, after around 50 days of photo-shootings.
The last part is finding the budget to print the books. As a result, we decided to launch this Kickstarter to gauge people’s reaction, knowing that the more books we print, the cheaper they will be, allowing us to put extras !
Inspired by Heroes is crowdfunded using Kickstarter. If you don’t already know what Kickstater is, it is a crowdfunding platform where you pre-order the product in order to make it possible. If the budget goal is reached, you will be debited out of the amount of money you pledged, and you will receive your copy of the product. It it’s not, no transactions will happen, but the project won’t go forward. The earlier you back the project, the more chances it has to be successful. Among the 172 pages, each models has 8 (double) pages introducing 4 different photo shootings and there interviews with tips and advices on their own experience to stay fit.
We need to pre-sell 400 books. If we do so, we will be able to start the prints. If we succeed, it would require between 2 or 3 months to et them printed and shipped. Each person contributing with more than 39€ will receive at least one copy of the book.
Among the 300 pictures taken during the 50 days of photo shooting, 80 pictures are dedicated to be autographs pictures. They are all signed by the hand of the models. They are ment to be smaller pledges than the book. You won’t find those pictures in the book.
They are both sides printed : The recto is a full color picture signed. The verso is a black and white version of the picture with the details of the photography.
7 photographers worked on this project with 50 different shooting locations. We are also planning a Season 2, which will include our Cospro’s video team and a lot of backstage videos.”
